Jarmo Laitinen is a 56 year old, experienced coach who has been coaching in Finnish top level for 25 years and on international level , junior national teams for 13 years. Coach Laitinen has always been considered a master of high tempo, athletic open court transition basketball. He likes his players to be athletic type of players, more of high than low scoring teams. Eventhough coach Laitinen has been working mostly with younger players, he has always been very succesfull with recruiting high quality, athletic US players and his teams have mostly been famous for tough full court presses and good transition offense and defense. Coach Laitinen started recruiting US players by visiting US summer leagues in late 1980s and has been in those circuits almost every summer after that. During those years he has established a very good network with coaches and agents working in basketball. Some international players, who played for coach Laitinen while in Junior National team are: Hanno Möttölä (NBA, Euroleague), Teemu Rannikko (Italy, Spain, Russia), Tuukka Kotti (Italy), Samuel Haanpää (Spain), Antti Nikkilä (Greece, France, Spain), Kimmo Muurinen (Italy, Germany) and Gerald Lee jr, (Italy).
