Balkan Botevgrad (Bulgarian NBL) confirmed in their roster 26-year old international power forward Dimitar Dimitrov. He played there last season. In 31 NBL games he had 9.9ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3spg. Dimitrov helped them to win the league title. A very impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League 3rd Team. Dimitrov also played 15 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 8.1ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.3apg. The previous (17-18) season Dimitrov played at Academik Plovdiv. In 22 NBL games he was fourth best scorer with remarkable 16.5ppg and averaged 7.5rpg (#3 in the league), 2.6apg and 1.6spg. Dimitrov contributed to his team ending the regular season as at the second position in the league. They also played in the Supercup final. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League 1st Team, All-Domestic Players Team and League Player of the Week (4 times). Dimitrov also played 8 games in Balkan League where he got 13.0ppg, 6.3rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Balkan League Honorable Mention. The other team Dimitrov played that season for was Academic Sofia. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 10 NBL games he got 6.7ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League 1st Team, All-Domestic Players Team and also here League Player of the Week (4 times). Dimitrov also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got 3.2ppg and 2.2rpg. He also played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 3.0ppg, 1.0rpg and 1.5apg.Dimitrov has been also a member of Bulgarian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Bulgarian senior team since 2012 and previously for U16 National Team between 2008 and 2009.Dimitrov also represented Bulgaria at the European Championships U20 in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy) four years ago .Dimitrov has played also professionally in Austria (Arkadia Lions) and Italy (Rimini Crabs).
