Eskisehir Basket (Turkish TBL) inked 24-year old former international power forward Berkay Candan. It is actually his comeback to Edirne as he has played here before. Candan played most recently at Muratbey Usak Sportlif Basketbol (BSL). He managed to play in three leagues last year. In 30 BSL games he averaged 6.4ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.1apg. TBL will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Candan also played 4 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he had 8.0ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.0apg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. And finally Candan contributed to 15 games in Basketball Champions League where he recorded 7.7ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.0apg.The previous (15-16) season Candan played at Trabzonspor (also in BSL). In 28 games he got 3.8ppg and 2.0rpg. He also played 16 games in Eurocup where he got 3.4ppg and 2.6rpg.Among other achievements Candan's team won Turkish Supercup in 2014. He received also Eurobasket.com All-European Championships U20 Honorable Mention award back in 2012 and 2013.Candan was also a member of Turkish international program for some years. He played for Turkish Senior National Team in 2014 and previously for U18 National Team between 2010 and 2011.Candan represented Turkey at the European Championships U20 in Tallinn (Estonia) four years ago. His stats at that event were 10 games: 11.4ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.2apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 43.8%, 3PT: 25.0%, FT: 66.7%.Candan has played previously professionally also in Italy (Pesaro Loreto) and Turkey (Fenerbahce, TED Kolejliler and Banvit).
