32-year old center Derrick Nix had an amazing evening in the last round for Vera and receives a Player of the Week award for round 16 in Georgian Superleague. He had a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds against Kutaisi. Nix turned to be Vera's top player in his first season with the team. Derrick Nix averages this season 15.2ppg and 6.0rpg.

Nix, a native of Detroit, Michigan, played college basketball at Michigan State University from 2009-2013 and after that he played professionally in several countries, including Greece, Israel, and Italy, before joining Vera in the Georgian Superleague.
