The Fraport Skyliners Get Aaron Doornekamp

The Feaport Skyliners have announced that they have reeled in Aaron Doornekamp. Aaron got a contract for a year with an option for another. He is a 28 year old 201cm forward from Canada that has had much experience in Italy and last season played in Braunschweig. For the New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig (Germany-BBL) he played 34 games: 8.8ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.9apg, 1.4spg, FGP: 50.5%, 3PT: 37.4%, FT: 78.0%
"Aaron gives us experience at thr European level since he has played for the Canadian national team and played in Italy. He can play both wing positions and is versatile and is a tough player", stressed Fraport Skyliners head coach Gordon Herbert.
Doornekamp who is the brother of exTBB Trier player Nate Doornekamp started his basketball career in 2004 for Carleton University (CIS) where he played until 2009. As a professional he played three seasons for Pepsi JuveCaserta (Italy-SerieA) playing a total of 88 games for the team. Doornekamp is content about coming to Frankfurt. "Gordon Herbert is a great coach and I am sure that he can help me develop further. I have only heard good things about the city and am looking forward to living there and being a part of the clubI want to help the team in that I work hard, have intensity and play for the team. I am ready", warned aaron Doornekamp.
