Davis Inks Pro Contract with Belfast Star

Former Queens University of Charlotte guard Mike Davis has signed a professional contract with Belfast Star of the Super League, Ireland's top-tier professional basketball league, the team announced. Davis is the second member of the Royals' 2018 graduating class to sign a pro deal.
"I'm very excited for the opportunity to play at the professional level," said Davis. "This is something that I have talked about doing for a long time and to see it come full swing is quite amazing."
Queens has prepared me tremendously for this. Queens has taught me how to be a winner, which is now inscribed in me as a player every time I step on the floor. The biggest thing I'll take away from my time at Queens is that they taught me how to work. Every day is a grind and you get out what you put in."In his two seasons with the Royals, Davis started 68 of 70 games and averaged 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 steals per while shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 39 percent from the 3-point line. He scored 20 points or more on eight occasions, with a career-high of 29 points on Nov. 22, 2016, versus Newberry College. Davis's play earned him honorable mention all-conference accolades as a junior and second-team all-conference honors as a senior. In his four-year college career, Davis scored 1,715 points totaling 904 points in his time at Queens and 811 in his first two collegiate seasons at Francis Marion University.Since graduating in May, Davis competed in The Basketball Tournament with the PrimeTime Players, a Charlotte-based minor league team, where Davis helped lead PrimeTime to a Super 16 finish while averaging 9.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
