Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (Liga Endesa) landed 31-year old Canadian international forward Aaron Doornekamp. He has a double citizenship as he also holds Dutch passport. Doornekamp has played for the last two years at Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt in German BBL league. In 39 games he averaged 11.3ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.1apg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Doornekamp also played 17 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he had 9.1ppg, 4.5rpg and 2.0apg. He contributed to his team winning the cup. Doornekamp received All-OUA East Division 1st Team award back in 2009.
He was also a member of Canadian international program for some years. Doornekamp played for Canadian Senior National Team between 2006 and 2015 and previously for U21 National Team in 2005. He represented Canada at the FIBA Americas in Mexico last year. Doornekamp's team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 10 games: 3.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.5apg.
Doornekamp has played also professionally in Italy (Juvecaserta) and Canada (Ravens).
