Academik Plovdiv signs Aleksandar Mitrovic
Akademik Bulteks 99 Plovdiv (Bulgarian NBL) signed 25-year old Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic . Last season he played at Rabotnicki in the Macedonian Prva Liga. In 12 games there he had 5.7ppg and 3.0rpg. His team won the Macedonian Cup.
Mitrovic spent most of the previous season (2013-14) at Zlatorog in Slovenia (Telemach League). In 22 games there he recorded 6.9ppg and 2.5rpg.
The previous season (2012-13) Mitrovic played at KK Vrsac Swisslion in the Serbian league. In 25 games he recorded 12.8ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.7apg.
He ended the previous season (2011-12) at Peristeri in the Greek A1 league, but the most of that year Mitrovic spent at Metalac in the Serbian league, where in 13 games he recorded 2.6ppg.
Mitrovic represented Serbia at the U-20 European Championships in Croatia five years ago. His stats at that event were: 8 games, 12.5ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.8apg, FGP: 39.1%, 3PT: 48.5%, FT: 85.0%.
He started his professional career with Mega Basket Belgrade in his native Serbia, where he later moved to powerhouse Partizan Belgrade (2009-11). With the latter he had the chance to play in the Euroleague, reaching the Final Four in 2010, before going on loan to Buducnost in Montenegro during the 2010-11 season.
