A.G.O Rethymno Aegean inks Marios Matalon
A.G.O Rethymno Aegean (Greek A1) signed 26-year old naturalized Israeli guard Marios Matalon. He has played for the last two seasons at Trikalla (A1). In 21 games he had 5.2ppg, 1.1rpg and 2.2apg last season.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Matalon played in the final of Israeli National League in 2010. He was also voted Eurobasket.com Israeli National League All-Domestic Players Team back in 2010. Matalon represented Greece at the European Championships U20 in Riga (Latvia) seven years ago. His stats at that event were 6 games: 4.3ppg, 1.7rpg, 3.8apg, 1.7spg.Matalon has played previously professionally in Greece (Iraklis, Ilysiakos, Kolossos, Gymnastikos Olympia Larissas and Koroivos) and Israel (B.C. Habikaa, Hapoel Yokneam/Megido and Hapoel Afula).He attended University of Wyoming until 2008 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player.
