Akeem Scott heads to BC Mornar Bar

Jamaican National Team Point Guard, Akeem Scott, has just agreed terms with the Montenegrin Club B.C. Mornar. Last season Mornar  reached the finals in the Montenegrin League, and the semifinals of both, the Balkan and Adriatic League.
Akeem recently played in Centrobasket, a FIBA tournament featuring teams from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Scott played in four games for Jamaica from July 6-10, helping the team to a 2-2 record. He scored 18 points in a loss to the British Virgin Islands and scored 15 in a win over the U.S. Virgin Islands. Jamaica was eliminated with a 55-51 loss to Panama, which advanced to the semifinals. Scott won the Bronze medal at the CBC Championships and was awarded All-CBC Championships Best Guard  and All-CBC Championships 1st Team -11

Last winter, Scott , played 18 games for Lappeenranta in the Finnish Basketball League. He averaged 16.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals. Scott led Honka Espoo to the Finnish Basketball League title and was named tournament MVP in 2007-08. He scored the winning basket with 3.3 seconds left in a 72-71 win over Kouvot in the championship game. He played for Honka Espoo again in 2008-09, averaging 16.9 points in 49 games.
