Alperia Bolzano add Joana Alves

After 20 days of inactivity due to the pandemic, Alperia Bolzano started to practice again, and this weekend will be back on the basketball floor, but this time with a new player. The club, in fact, has decided to strengthen their roster by adding the Portuguese center Joana Alves.
Born in 1996, Joana is a 6.3 player who arrived yesterday directly from Spain where she was playing with the GDKO Bizkaia of Bilbao in Liga 2.
Her new coach, Roberto "Cico" Sacchi commented: "Since Lorena Molnar's injury, the club has been working hard to find a player who could take her place. Joana is a player who comes from 4 years of American college (Seattle University) and she started the 2020/21 season in the Spanish second division. Joana has an important structure and despite this she is very dynamic, good back to basket movements but also good hands with good shooting both from two and three pointers. Her 4 years in college allowed her to work a lot on the fundamentals and the physical part. Now she will have to dive into the European championship which is completely opposite to that of college. I can't wait to get to work with her and with the whole team, hoping to have some continuity in the work."
