Hoops Club (Division A) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old American point guard Ashton Gibbs. He started the season at Steaua CSM EximBank Bucuresti in Romanian Liga Nationala. In 12 Liga I games he recorded 9.3ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.8apg this season. The most of last season Gibbs spent at Ourense (LEB Gold) in Spanish league. In 12 games he averaged 14.4ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.3apg. He also spent pre-season at Panionios (A1) in Greek league earlier that year. In 8 games he averaged 6.3ppg and 2.3rpg. Gibbs also played 4 games in Eurocup where he averaged 4.5ppg and 1.3rpg.
Among other achievements his team won Big East Regular Season in 2011. Gibbs received also USBasket.com All-NCAA D1 3rd Team award and All-Big East Honorable Mention award in 2012 at his college time. Gibbs represented USA at the World University Games in Shenzhen (China) three years ago. His stats at that event were 7 games: 11.7ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.1apg, FGP: 54.3%, 3PT: 27.8%, FT-1 (94.4%). Gibbs graduated from University of Pittsburgh in 2012 and it is his second season in pro basketball.
