Atenas Cordoba (LigaA) tabbed 21-year old American international center Matias Bortolin. It is actually his comeback to Cordoba as he played here before. Bortolin has a double citizenship as he also holds Italian passport. Bortolin played most recently at Regatas Corrientes in Argentinian LigaA. In 48 games he averaged 8.1ppg and 3.9rpg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. He can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian LigaA Newcomer of the Year. Bortolin also played 6 games in Liga Americas where he had 5.0ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.0bpg. He also played at Basket Rimini Crabs (Serie B) in Italian league that season. In 2012-13 Bortolin played with Arkadia Lions (A Bundesliga) in Austrian league. In 26 games he had 11.3ppg, 6.2rpg, 2.2apg, 1.0spg and 1.0bpg. He also spent pre-season at Partizan (KLS) in Serbian league that year. The previous (11-12) season Bortolin was tested by Lottomatica Roma (Serie A) in Italian league. In 2010-11 season he played at Atenas. Bortolin has been also a member of Argentinian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Argentinian senior team since 2013 and previously for U17 National Team between 2009 and 2010. Bortolin also represented Argentina at the South American Championships in Isla Margarita (Venezuela) this year. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 5 games: 9.6ppg, 3.8rpg, FGP: 72.4%, FT-3 (85.7%).
