Bell Named to NBA All-Defensive Second Team

PHOENIX - Phoenix Suns guard Raja Bell was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team, the league announced today.
It marks the second-straight selection to the All-Defensive Team for Bell, who was named to the First Team in 2006-07, making him just the fifth player in franchise history to earn such honors in consecutive seasons.
Bell joins Paul Silas (1970-72), Don Buse (1977-80), Dennis Johnson (1980-83) and Jason Kidd (1999-01) as the only players in Suns history to accomplish the feat.
Joining Bell on the NBA All-Defensive Second Team are Shane Battier of the Houston Rockets, Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic and Tayshaun Prince of the Detroit Pistons. Paul and Howard are each making their first appearance on an All-Defensive team.
The voting panel consisted of the NBA's 30 head coaches, who were asked to select NBA All-
Defensive First and Second Teams by position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players from their own team.
Two points were awarded for a First Team vote and one point was awarded for a Second Team vote.
