Joe Lawson will remain in the German Pro A moving from Gotha to Chemnitz. Pro A club BV Chemnitz announced that they had scooped up Joe Lawson  today. Lawson is a 201cm forward that weighs 113 kilos and hails from Indianapolis. He will be playing his second professional season and as a rookie had a solid season with the BiG Oettinger Rockets Gotha (Germany-ProA) playing 38 games and averaging 11.6ppg, 4.9rpg, FGP: 59.8%, 3PT: 38.8%, FT: 69.4%. "He will help us with his physicality, rebounding, good shot and understanding of the game at both ends of the floor", stated BV Chemnitz head coach Rodrigo Pastore. Last season he scored in double figures 25 times and registered four double doubles. Lawson started his basketball career in 2010 with Indiana SE (NAIA) playing 23 games: 2.5ppg, 2.1rpg. In his second season he played 33 games averaging 10.8ppg, 6.2rpg, FGP: 63.3%, FT: 77.4%. He then moved to Indianapolis (NCAA2) and as a junior played 29 games averaging 15.3ppg, 6.7rpg, FGP: 55.5%, 3PT: 36.4%, FT: 76.1%. In his senior year he played 31 games: 19.2ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1spg, 1.5bpg, FGP: 58.5%, 3PT: 32.8%, FT: 78.0%.
