Chris Gaston leads Aguada to victory

The game between Aguada and Ponce had a very big importance for second-ranked Santeros as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Santeros defeated 5th ranked Leones in Coamo 91-85. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Leones. Leones trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 23-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 85-91 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Leones 44-23 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Santeros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 

It was a good game for international Chris Gaston  who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 9 rebounds.  He has also collected 3 assists and a steal for a final evaluation index of 28. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Leones at the other side dropped to the fourth place with 14 games lost. Leones will play next round against Atleticos trying to get back on the winning streak. Santeros will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Caciques in Humacao.
