The Italian SerieA team Cimberio Varese decided to reinforce their roster by adding the 6'6” small forward Alex Righetti. Alex played for the last two years with La Fortezza Virtus Bologna. team with which he won the Eurochallenge 2009. In the regular season the 32-years-old forward averaged 6.2 points and 2.8 rebounds.
Before joining Virtus Bologna, Alex played for seven years in the Italian Serie A with another Virtus team, Lottomatica Virtus Roma, averaging 8.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 20 Euroleague competitions. He's been a member of the Italian National team from 1998 to 2005.
