Cocodrilos add Ibekwe to their roster for the SPB Finals
Cocodrilos de Caracas (Venezuelan SPB) added to their roster experienced 37-year old Nigerian-American ex-international center Ekenechukwu Ibekwe. The last time (2021) he played at Chorale de Roanne Basket in French Betclic ELITE ProA. Ibekwe represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro six years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 4.2ppg, 4.0rpg, Blocks-1 (2.4bpg).He is quite experienced player. Ibekwe's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in ten different countries. Ibekwe tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia (United and New Zealand Breakers), Germany (Skyliners and Oettinger Rockets Gotha), Israel, Lebanon (Al Riyadi and Sagesse), Puerto Rico (Manati), Russia (Krasny Oktyabr), Spain, Turkey (Usak), France (Pau Lacq Orthez, Metropolitans, Chalons Reims and Chalon/Saor) and Czech Republic (Nymburk).The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his college team made it to the FIBA Asia Champions Cup final in 2019. Ibekwe was voted to Australiabasket.com Australian NBL All-Imports Team back in 2015.He graduated from University of Maryland in 2007 and it will be his 16th season as a professional player.
