Istanbul DSI (Turkish TB2L) inked 30-year old American point guard Derek Williams. He played most recently at Gelisim (TB2L). In 34 games he recorded very impressive stats: 18.6ppg, 4.3rpg and 4.4apg last season. A very good year in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TB2L Honorable Mention.
The previous (13-14) season Williams played at Inter Bratislava (SBL) in Slovakian league. In 38 games he averaged 12.8ppg, 3.1rpg, 4.3apg and 1.3spg in 2013-14 season. He helped them to win the league title. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Slovakian League Honorable Mention.
In 12-13 season Williams played at Maliye Milli (TB3L). In 35 games he averaged 14.7ppg, 3.4rpg, 4.2apg and 1.5spg.
In 11-12 season he played at Texas Legends in D-League. In 11 games he averaged 4.5ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.5apg in 2011-12 season.In 2011 (a year after he left the college) Texas Legends selected him as fifth overall pick in D-League draft.He attended Southern Methodist University and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
