Dimitar Dimitrov's double- double in the Bulgarian NBL

19 year old forward Dimitar Dimitrov had a great debut in the first round of the Bulgarian NBL for Levski Sofia.  Dimitar had a double-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists in 26 minutes helping his team, Levski Sofia beat host Beroe with 15 point difference 84-69. Dimitar has returned to his native country after he spent four years in the youth Program of the Basket Rimini Crabs in Italy. He had been a key player for the Crabs youth programs contributing to reach 3 consecutive finals to the Italian youth National Championship. Additionally, Dimitar won two promotions: the first one; in 2010/2011 with San Lazaro (BO) (Italy DNC) , and in 2011/2012 with San Marino (Italy DNC).
With the Bulgarian National team, Dimitrov shined at U20 EuroBasket Division B this summer with 12.4 ppg, 11.4 rpg and 2.8 apg for 5 games. He helped Bulgaria to reach the Semifinals. However, they failed to Croatia 79-85 in that game and after that lost to Israel 67-101 in the battle for bronze medal. Dimitar Dimitrov helped U18 Bulgarian NT to win the gold medal at U18 EuroBasket Division B in Varna, 2011. There he had 12.9 ppg and 7.6 rpg for 7 games. Bulgaria won the promotion for Division A at this event. In the past, he won gold and bronze medal with U16 Bulgaria. This summer Dimitar Dimitrov played for Bulgarian 3x3 team at FIBA 3x3 World Championship in Greece.
