Defending champion Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (Liga Endesa) confirmed in their roster 32-year old Canadian international forward Aaron Doornekamp. He is a dual citizen owning also Dutch passport. Doornekamp played there last season. In 35 Liga Endesa games he had 12.3ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.5apg.
The previous (15-16) season he played at Deutsche Bank Skyliners in German BBL where in 39 games he recorded 11.3ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.1apg. Doornekamp helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played 17 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 9.1ppg, 4.5rpg and 2.0apg. Doornekamp contributed to his team winning the Cup.He was voted CIS All-Canadian Player of the Year back in 2008.
Doornekamp was also a member of Canadian international program for some years. He played for Canadian Senior National Team between 2006 and 2015 and previously for U21 National Team in 2005.
Doornekamp represented Canada at the FIBA Americas in Mexico two years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 10 games: 3.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.5apg.Doornekamp has played also professionally in Italy (Juvecaserta), Germany (Braunschweig) and Canada (Ravens).
