Dwight Coleby joins Anwil Wloclawek
Anwil Wloclawek Basketball Club announced the signing of Bahamian Power Forward/Center Dwight Coleby. For Dwight this will be his fourth season as professional player. He has played previously in Belgium (betFIRST Liege Basket), Japan (Akita Northern Happinets), Turkey (Sigortam.net ITU Basket Istanbul and Merkezefendi Belediyesi Denizli Basket) and Italy (Banco di Sardegna Sassari), after graduating at Western Kansas in 2018.
Arkadiusz Lewandowski, President of the Management Board of KK WÅocÅawek : Two weeks of observation of the composition prompted us to make a decision about the need to change the position of the center. Austin Davis did a good job in training and in the sparring matches, but we felt it would be necessary to strengthen the under-the-basket area with a more experienced player. Dwight Coleby is a basketball player who is successively building his brand in Europe. He played in solid leagues with very good statistics. Its characteristics fit the concept of the coach and we are glad that it will complement the team.
PrzemysÅaw Frasunkiewicz, coach of Anwil WÅocÅawek : Classic undershirt. Fighting, involved in a defense game, likes to dominate closer to the rim, but not limited to playing under the basket. In addition to such obvious features as the ability to finish pick and roll from above, Dwight can also find himself at mid-range. It has a really good projection for the centers and we will definitely use it. We expect him to give us quality under the basket defensive as well, I have seen matches where he did well against both heavier, bigger centers as well as the more mobile ones.
Dwight Coleby, central Anwil WÅocÅawek : I am very excited about the upcoming season and what can I say - I want to win the championship. I have heard a lot of good things about the club, about the organization and I will definitely do my best to seize the opportunity.
