It was an unbelievable game the one that took place in Milano last Sunday. Fifth ranked Scandone Avellino saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Armani Milano 94-92 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Armani Milano.
Scandone Avellino brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an amazing evening for international point guard Ariel Filloy who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Worth to mention the incredible buzz beater that led his team to overtime, and eventually to victory.
Four Scandone AV and five Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Armani Milano's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Scandone AV moved-up to third place, which they share with EA7 Armani and Fiat TO. Scandone AV will play against Openjobmetis VA (#9) in Varese in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Armani Milano will play on the road against Dolomiti En. TR (#11) in Trento and hopes to get back on the winning track.
