LNBP newcomer Garzas de Plata Hidalgo added to their roster 26-year old Puerto Rican international shooting guard Michael Rosario. He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Rosario played last summer at Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 43 games he recorded 13.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.7apg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Honorable Mention and All-Domestic Players Team. The last season Rosario played at Halcones Rojos where in 33 LNBP games he averaged impressive 17.9ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg (in top 5). Great season indeed as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP 2nd Team and to the All-Star Game.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Rosario won Puerto Rican BSN championship title for two years in a row (2014 and 2015). He was also voted All-SEC Most Improved Player of the Year back in 2013 at his college time.Rosario has been also a member of Puerto Rican international program for some years. He has regularly played for Puerto Rican senior team since 2009 and previously for U19 National Team in 2009.Rosario represented Puerto Rico at the Centrobasket in Panama City (Panama) this year. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 5 games: 13.4ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.2apg, FGP: 51.6%, 3PT: 44.4%, FT: 68.8%.Rosario has played previously professionally also in Poland (Wilki Morskie).He attended University of Florida until 2013 and it will be his fourth season as a professional player.
