Great season for Mackay, Mieloszynska, Ugoka and Vida
In 2013, the former
point guard of Dayton Flyers and member of the WNBA training camp with the Seattle Storm Sam Mackay (in the picture) signed a 1
year contract with Euroleague team UNI Gyor. Unfortunately the team had a
tragic bus accident on the beginning of the season and they had to miss the
whole year.
This season Mackay got back on the court and averaged 14.6 points with 43.2% 3PT. Her numbers, especially the ones from January are particularly impressive, so we can definetely say that Sam Mackay is back!
Daria Mieloszynska signed back in Spain, collecting 14.2 points and 3.8 rebounds for CD Zamarat. She had an amazing 29 points season high against Euroleague team Avenida Parfumerias.
Virgina Tech rookie Uju Ugoka, started pretty well her pro career, averaging double double in Italy. Uju had 18.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, becoming the 4th best scorer and 4th best rebounder in the league.
Anna Vida, after having led Triestina to the first division in 2013-14, confirmed herself as the team's best player in this season as well. She was the 8th best scorer in the league with 15.1 points per game.
