UBC Magnofit Gussing Knights (A Bundesliga) landed 30-year old American guardAnthony Shavies. It is actually his comeback in Gussing as he has played here before.
Shavies played most recently at MBC Mykolaiv in Ukrainian Superleague. In 29 games he averaged 9.2ppg, 4.4rpg, 4.7apg and 1.9spg last season. He helped them to make it to the Ukrainian Cup Semifinals.
The previous (11-12) season Shavies played at Furstenfeld Panthers. In 29 A Bundesliga games he had very impressive stats: 18.1ppg, 5.7rpg, 5.9apg and 2.3spg that season. He contributed in the supercup final. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Austrian League Honorable Mention and All-Defensive Team.
Among other achievements his team won Austrian Bundesliga A Regular Season in 2010. Shavies received also Eurobasket.com All-Austrian League 1st Team award in 2011. He has played previously for another Austrian team Worthersee Piraten.
Shavies attended Missouri State until 2005 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
