Hanavan extends his contract with Aalstar.
6.8 American-Belgian power forward/center Ian Hanavan will remain for will two other seasons with Okapi Aalstar. The talented double-passported big man is having a great season in Belgium, where he recently won the National Supercup.
In the previous two years Ian has played at Stella Artois Leuven Bears (Ethias League). Among other achievements Hanavan's team made it to the Belgian Cup Final Four in 2012. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Bosman Player of the Year award in 2011 and All-Czech Rep. League Bosman Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010.
Hanavan is a very experienced player. He has also played in Holland (Almere), Cyprus (Apoel) and Czech Republic (CEZ Nymburk and BK Prostejov). Hanavan attended University of Evansville until 2003 and this was his eleventh season in pro basketball.
