Interperformances players at the NBDL Draft 2011
The 2011 NBA Development League Draft took place on Thursday night via conference call. Among the the promising players who have been picked there are also several Interperformances talents.
The Iowa Energy made of Brandon Ewing (on the left) their first selection, in the second round. Last season the 6'2" point guard played in Cyprus where he's been awarded as All-Cyprus League Guard of the Year 2011. It's kind of crazy that this all worked out, it's a perfect world, said Brandon after arriving at the team's draft. I'm just happy to be a part of the team.
The tenth pick of the Tulsa 66ers has been Evan Fjeld. The 6'8" power forward, has been the 30th player in University of Vermont history to top the 1,000 points mark. Fjeld was named to the America East First Team All-Conference in his senior season after averaging a career-best 14.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
Chayne Gadson has been the 44th pick of the night, drafted by Idaho Stampede on the third round. The experienced 6'4" all around guard will be a great help for the team, since the Stampede's coach recently claimed that filling that position was the most immediate need. Idaho picked also another Interperformances player, Dwain Williams, a 24 years old point guard from Hawaii Warriors.
Tirell Baines and Omar Reed have been picked in the fourth round of the draft. Tirell is a product of Marshall University Thundering Herd and has been selected by the Erie Bayhawks, while the 2009 AAC Regular Season Champion Omar Reed has been picked by the Austin Toros.
