The 2012 NBA Development League Draft took place on Friday night via Cisco Webex. Among the 128 promising players who have been picked there are also several Interperformances talents.
The Sprinfield Armor made of Christian Polk (in the picture) their first selection, in the second round. The Armor were looking for a shooter and found him in Christian, out of the University of Texas-El Paso.
The 6'3" guard, who began his college career at Arizona State, can stroke it from the perimeter, shooting 45 percent on 3-pointers as a senior and 41 percent for his two years at UTEP. “I'm extremely excited,” Polk said. “I've heard good things about the city and the team.”
The 6'7" Forward Omar Reed has been the 52th pick of the night, drafted by Maine Red Claws on the 4th round. Omar is not new to the D-League since he already played last season for Austin Toros.
Sene Assane and Isaiah Wilkerson were picked in later rounds. The 7'0" Senegalese center Sene Assane has been picked in the sixth round of the draft by Canton Charge, while Tulsa 66ers decided to choose Isaiah Wilkerson in the 8th round.
