Interperformances players shine in Cyprus
American-Belgian forward Ian Hanavan (in the picture) put on an extraordinary performance for Cytavision Apoel Nicosia, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. The 3O-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 1O rebounds, while his team beat ENAD 73-67. APOEL started with victory, but it's just the very beginning of the season and it's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Hanavan shows potential to be APOEL's top player in his first season with the team.
The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American Anthony King of Etha. King had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. He paced Etha to comfortable win 78-6O over AEK Larnaca being unquestionably team leader. King is well-known at Etha and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.
Third on the list of top players last round was another Cytavision Apoel Nicosia's star - Serbian forward Mirko Kovac. Kovac showcased his all-around game by recording 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was another key player of APOEL, helping his team with a 73-67 win against ENAD. APOEL has a good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage.
