The Italian LegaDue 2009/10 champion team Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, decided to build its SerieA roster for the next season by confirming one of the best players of the last year: Jiri Hubalek. Last season the Czech Republic National Team player dropped 514 points in 865 minutes of 30 regular season games, for an average of 17.3 points per game, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals.
The season before the 6'11” power forward/center was instrumental in keeping Solsonica Rieti in the Italian Serie A. His playing time doubled to 37 mpg in the last eight games when it counted and he responded averaging in double figures in both points and rebounds. Jiri had a good college career at Iowa State University, where he averaged 12,4 ppg and 7,3 rpg in his senior year.
