Czech Republic National Team player Jiri Hubalek has signed with Banco di Sardegna Sassari in the Italian Lega2 for the next season. The 6'11” power forward/center was instrumental in keeping Solsonica Rieti in the Italian Serie A last year. His playing time doubled to 37 mpg in the last eight games when it counted and he responded averaging in double figures in both points and rebounds. Jiri had a good college career at Iowa State University where he averaged 12,4 ppg and 7,3 rpg in his senior year.
