Luol Deng scored a season-high 30 points leading Miami Heat with a 105-96 victory over the Mavericks on Sunday night. The Heat have won seven straight regular-season games against the Mavericks since Dallas took three in a row in the finals to capture its first championship.
Deng was the key offseason acquisition that mattered most, going 13 of 19 from the field with five rebounds and four assists as the ball-moving Heat shot 55 percent to 42 percent for Dallas. The last time Deng scored 30 points was on Dec.2, 2013.
“We're still getting better as a team, and I think there is still a lot to figure out, but in the game plan [Sunday] they doubled Bosh and D-Wade, and we did a good job of moving the ball,” Deng said. “We had a lot of open jumpers.”
