Machado makes history

6'7” Brazilian guard / small forward Marcelo Machado made history (again) last Sunday, after having broken two different league records. In the game against San Josè “Marcelinho” scored 63 points, 38 in the first half. This is the 14th win for his team,  the Flamengo Petrobras Rio de Janeiro, in the NBB, championship organized by the Brazilian Liga Nacional de Basquete.
On January 24th, the flamengo guard had already reached a great achievement. The player was able to surpass the record for points in a single match of the NBB, which belonged to the wing of the Paulistano / Amil, Dede, by signing 45 points. But this time Marcelinho excelled himself, scoring 63 points and breaking also another record: Machado hit 16 points from the “3” in 21 attempts.
"The other day I was watching an NBA game with my wife and I told her the story about the 81 points that Kobe Bryant scored once. Today I was inspired, very happy, and this record was the result of the great work of our team, "said Marcelinho.
