7'0” Spanish center Marc Gasol was only picked in the second round (#44) of the NBA draft in 2007 and decided to remain in Spain for another year before signing with the Memphis Griizzies. It was a great move because he improved physically and technically and was named MVP of the Spanish ACB League with Akasvayu Girona. He  had 27 points and 16 rebounds in the win over Golden State Warriors 90-79. He shot 9-11 from the field and 9-11 from the free throw line. He has a good chance to be selected Rookie of the Year in the NBA.
