Marinov and Vaklinov shine in Bulgaria
Former
international Pavel Marinov had a very impressive game in the last round for
league's second-best Balkan and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player
of the Week award for round 25.
The 26-year old had the game-high 42 points adding four rebounds for Balkan in
his team's victory, helping them to beat Yambol 93-86. Balkan
maintains the 2nd position in Bulgarian NBL. In the team's last game Marinov had a
remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7
attempts. It's his second year at Balkan and it's hard to imagine this team
without him. Marinov has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in
points (7th best: 16.3ppg), assists (7th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 56.7%
FGP and 48.9% from behind 3-point line.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old former international power forward Stanislav Vaklinov of Spartak Pleven. Vaklinov impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Spartak Pleven cruised to a 89-77 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Chernomorets. Vaklinov is one of the most experienced players at Spartak Pleven and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
