Marko Tomas inks an open contract with Cibona

Cibona shook up its backcourt by signing Croatian National team member Marko Tomas on an open contract.Tomas arrives from city rival Cedevita, where he averaged 7.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22 Adriatic League games last season, 11.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 8 Eurocup games and 9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 16 Croatian A1 League games, helped Cedevita to win Croatian Championship and Cup titles.Tomas grew up with Radnik Krizevci and has already played for Zagreb from 1999 through 2005 before moving to Spain to play for Real Madrid and Funlabrada on loan. In the summer 2009, Tomas returned to Croatia and joined Cibona for one season. The following season 2010-11 he moved to the Turkey giant Fenerbahce Ulker for the two seasons. He then left for Cedevita, spending three seasons there between 2012 and 2015, before returning to Turkey with TED Kolejliler Ankara 2015-16.Tomas spent the summer representing the Croatian national team at the 2017 European Championship, averaging 8.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in four games.
