MIA Academy Tbilisi (Georgian Superleague) signed 24-year old Georgian ex-international power forward Nika Metreveli. He is a dual citizen owning also Italian passport. Metreveli played recently at Givova Napoli in Italian A2 Gold. Part of last season he spent at Mec-Energy Roseto (A2 Silver) in Italian league. In 8 games he recorded 7.4ppg and 3.4rpg. Metreveli also played at Sokhumi earlier that season. In 7 Superleague games he recorded 13.3ppg, 8.6rpg and 1.4apg.
The previous (12-13) season he played at Paffoni Omegna (A2 Silver) in Italian league. In 18 games he recorded 11.5ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.2spg. In 11-12 season Metreveli played at Banco di Srd (Serie A) in Italian league where he helped them to make it to the semifinals.
Metreveli was also a member of Georgian international program for some years. He played for Georgian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2014 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2009. Metreveli also represented Georgia at the Qualifications to European Championships 2015 last year.
Metreveli has played also professionally for other Italian teams like Rimini, Montepaschi Siena and FCM Ferentino.
