Mitchell is back at Maccabi Rishon, ex Mykolaiv
Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion (Winner League) agreed terms with 31-year old American swingman Dwayne Mitchell. It is actually his comeback to Rishon Le-Zion as he played here before. Mitchell played last season at MBC Mykolaiv in Ukrainian Superleague. In 37 games he had 13.7ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.4spg. He helped them to make it to the Ukrainian Cup Semifinals. The previous (11-12) season Mitchell played at Ironi Ashkelon. In 27 Winner League games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.4ppg, 6.4rpg, 4.7apg and 1.7spg that season. A very spectacular year in his career as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention and to the All-Star Game. In 2010-11 season he played at Maccabi Rishon. In 31 Winner League games he recorded also remarkable stats: 15.6ppg, 7.9rpg, 4.3apg and 2.6spg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. Quite impressive season as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and named to 1st Team. In 2009-10 season Mitchell played at Hapoel Holon. In 15 Winner League games he recorded also great stats: 16.1ppg, 4.4rpg, 3.0apg and 1.0spg.
The most of previous (08-09) season he spent at D-Fendersin D-League. In 49 games he recorded also great stats: 18.6ppg, 6.9rpg, 4.3apg and 1.9spg. Mitchell also spent pre-season at the Clippers in NBA that year. In 2006 he was drafted by Yakama Sun Kings (CBA) in second round (20th overall).
Mitchell attended University Louisiana at Lafayette and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball. His college team won Sun Belt Tournament in 2005. Mitchell is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (Paris-Levallois), Germany (Brose Baskets Bamberg), NBA (LA Clippers) and D-League (Los Angeles D-Fenders and Iowa Energy).
On Mitchell: A very athletic perimetral player, who can easily go inside to finish.
