Napoli Basket lands Kyle Weaver
Napoli Basket (Lega Due Gold) tabbed 27-year old USA ex-international guard Kyle Weaver. He played most recently at Canton Charge (D-League) in the U.S.. In 19 games he averaged 13.5ppg, 5.5rpg, 4.3apg and 1.6spg last season. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. Weaver also played at Austin Toros in D-League that season. In 21 games he had 9.2ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0spg. He was called during the pre-season by the Memphis Grizzlies.
The previous (11-12) season Weaver played at ALBA Berlin (BBL) in German league. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 37 BBL games he had 9.3ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.6apg. Weaver also played 2 games in Euroleague (Q-Round) where he had 6.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.5apg and 1.0spg. He also played 11 games in Eurocup where he had 10.2ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.0apg and 1.6spg. The most of previous (10-11) season Weaver spent at Spirou Charleroi (Ethias League) in Belgium. In 11 games he had 7.5ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.5apg. He contributed to his team winning the league title. Weaver was called during the season by the Utah Jazz.
In 2008 he was drafted by Charlotte Bobcats (NBA) in second round (38th overall). Weaver attended Washington State and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball. He received Gatorade All-D-League Honorable Mention award in 2011. Weaver also represented USA at the Panamerican Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) six years ago.
Weaver has played previously professionally in NBA (Oklahoma City Thunder) and D-League (Iowa Energy).
Weaver was the first player in Pac-10 history to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists, 175 steals and 75 blocked shots in a career.
