The most exciting game of round 7 in the Icelandic Subway League took place in Reykjavik. This derby game ended with only a three-point defeat on the road of 8th-ranked Hottur to first-ranked Valur  82-79 on Friday evening.  The hosts trailed by 1 point after the first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at halftime and eventually won the game 82-79. It was a great evening for Argentinian-Italian Pablo Bertone who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, and 4 steals.
Valur have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a 6-1 record. Newly promoted Hottur keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Grindavik. Valur are looking forward to face Keflavik at home in the next round. Hottur will play against Grindavik tonight and it will be an interesting game between close rivals.
