Rilski tabs Zarko Rakocevic
Rilski Sportist Samokov (NBL) inked 30-year old Montenegrin international big man Zarko Rakocevic. He already started the season at Muharraq in the Bahrain Premier League. Last season Rakocevic played at Egis Kormend in the Hungarian A Division. In 33 games he averaged impressive stats: 19.5ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.8apg, 1.6spg and 2.0bpg. A very good season in his career, as he was awarded the Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Bosman Player of the Year, selected to the 1st Team and selected to the All-Bosmans Team. He also played 6 games in the EuroChallenge where he was the third best scorer with a remarkable average of 17.5ppg and recorded 7.0rpg (#4 in the tournament), 1.5apg, 1.2spg and 1.2bpg.
The previous season (2012-13) Rakocevic played at Zepter Vienna in the Austrian A Bundesliga. In 15 games he had 16.6ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1bpg. He helped them make it to the cup final. Most of the previous season (2011-12) Rakocevic spent at Lugano Tigers in the Swiss LNA league. In 20 games during that season he had 12.0ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.2apg and 1.0bpg. He contributed to his team winning the league title and the cup. It was a very successful season in his career, as he was awarded the Eurobasket.com All-Swiss LNA Bosman Player of the Year, selected to the 2nd Team and selected to the All-Bosmans Team. Rakocevic also played at Valencia Basket in Spanish ACB League earlier that season. He also played 1 game in the Eurocup, where he recorded great stats: 20 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks.
In the 2010-11 season Rakocevic played at Igokea in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. In 9 games he had 6.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.1spg and 1.2bpg. He also played 23 games in the Adriatic League, where he had 5.0ppg and 3.1rpg during that season.
Rakocevic is a very experienced player, who has also played professionally in Serbia (Partizan), Ukraine (Khimik and Cherkasy), Bosnia (Bosna Sarajevo) and his native Montenegro (Buducnost Podgorica and Gorstak Kolasin)
