6'8” forward  Maris Gulbis, born in 1985, is one of the best Latvian players and will surely have a future at  the highest level and should soon play with a Euroleague team. He was the MVP of the game VEF Riga won against SK Valmiera 93-89, scoring 22 points with 4-6 from the “2” and 4-8 from the “3”.  The Riga star made 29 points in the game before against Ventispils. He has played all  his career in VEF Riga.
