After bringing back their championship coach from 2013 with Andrea Maghelli BC Zepter Vienna has also brought back their championship center in Ryan Richards.
Richards left Vienna after winning the title in 2013 to play in Dubai but left as well after the pre-season. In December of 2013 the British center signed at Ikaros Kallitheas of Greece. In 19 games for Ikaros last season Richards posted averages of 9.5 ppg and 4.9 rpg while shooting just 44% from the field.
Richards was drafted as the 49th pick in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs. He was a member of the Spurs summer league team in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Besides winning an Austrian championship in 2013 Richards was named Eurobasket.com All Austrian Honorable Mention.
