The most interesting game of the 20th round of the Cypriot top league was a derby match between two local teams from Nicosia: Apoel (#3) and Etha (#5). Apoel  won against visiting Etha 74-63. The game was mostly controlled by Apoel. Etha managed to win fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Etha helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Deonta Vaughn  who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
Apoel maintains third position with 12-7 record having just three points less than leader AEK Larnaca. Etha at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Apoel are looking forward to face AEL (#6) in Limassol in the next round. Etha will play at home against the league's second-placed Keravnos and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
