Saturday evening, in a very challenging game, the sixth ranked Hyeres-Toulon defeated the ninth ranked Le Mans for only three points. MVP of the game was the 6'9" power forward/center Rick Hughes who collected 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in 28 minutes, for a final valuation index of 31.
Last year Rick played in Spain, with the LEB gold team Grupo Begar Leon, averaging 16.3 points per game, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists. In February he moved to Madison Apoel Nicosia where he helped the team to win the Cypriot Division A.
Rick is not new to Toulon , having played with the team in the 2008/09 season, in the ProA league and in EuroChallenge.
Both Hyeres-Toulon and Le Mans maintain respectively the sixth and ninth position in the standings. In the next round Hyeres-Toulon will meet the league's leader Cholet on the road.
