Simonovski best scorer after first phase of U20 EuroBasket Division B
U20 Macedonian National Team is currently enjoying their time at the U20 European Championship Division B, and their players are managing to impress. Marko Simonovski is currently leading scorer of the Tournament, even though he missed the last game against Bulgaria. U20 Shooting Guard is currently averaging 21 point per game after scoring total of 42 points in 2 games.
Currently U20 Macedonia is atop Group D with 2 wins and 1 loss. They have lost rather unexpectedly to Bulgaria 62-92 after displaying one of the worst games so far. Simonovski started at Vodno Suns cadet team. In 2007, he signed a contract with Vardar Osiguruvanje but was immediately loaned out to Centar Skopje in Macedonian 2nd League. Last season, Simonovski returned to Vardar and became a member of a starting lineup. His team finished the season in 7th place with 7 wins and 13 losses. Simonovski was a member of all youth National Team categories. He participated at U20 European Championships in Nova Gorica in 2007. Following year was his break out year when he participated at U20 European Championships Division B in Romania. In 8 games, Simonovski averaged 11.3 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 46.9% from behind the arc.
