Smith comes back to Obras, ex Bucaneros
Obras Sanitarias Buenos Aires (LigaA) added to their roster 34-year old American forward Theron Smith. It is actually his comeback to Buenos Aires as he played here before.
Smith played last summer at Bucaneros in Venezuelan LPB league, but left the team in April. In 15 games he recorded 8.7ppg and 5.1rpg. In 2003 he was drafted by Oklahoma Storm (USBL) in seventh round (64th overall). The former Ball State staris in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. The list of the past achievements is quite long as he won Liga Sudamericana championship title in 2012. Smith was also voted All D-League Honorable Mention back in 2006. He is quite experienced player. Smith has played also professionally in China (TianJin Steel), France (Entente Orleans 45), Italy (Cantu and Latina Basket), Romania (Steaua CSM EximBank Bucuresti), NBA (Memphis Grizzlies and Charlotte Bobcats) and D-League (Florida F.).
