Sport Lisboa Benfica (Portuguese LPB) confirmed in their roster 26-year old international forward Joao Soares. He played there last season. In 42 LPB games he recorded 7.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.4apg. He helped them to win the supercup and end the regular season at the top position. A very spectacular season in his career as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Portuguese League Domestic Player of the Year and voted to All-Domestic Players Team.The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Soares won Portuguese League championship title in 2011 and 2015.He was also a member of Portuguese international program for some years. Soares played for Portuguese Senior National Team between 2014 and 2015 and previously for U20 National Team between 2009 and 2000. He also represented Portugal at the Qualifications to European Championships 2015 two years ago.
