The Eisbaeren Bremerhaven have announced that Alex Harris is the newest member of the team today getting a one year deal. Harris is a 26 year old 196cm shooting guard from Alameda, California that will be starting his third season in the Beko BBL. He played the last two seasons for EnBW Ludwigsburg playing a total of 66 Beko BBL games. In his first season with the Schwaben team, he wa sthe fourth best scorer in the German league playing 34 games: Score-4 (16.0ppg), 2.4rpg, 1.6apg, FGP: 50.0%, 3PT: 42.8%, FT: 80.8%. Last season, he played 32 games: 12.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.4apg, FGP: 43.2%, 3PT: 40.0%, FT: 76.9%. "Despite the difficult situation in Ludwigsburg last season, Alex Harris proved that he is an excellent Bundesliga player. We have only heard positive things with our research. He is a great scorer that can penetrate and score form outside. Also he is a hard nosed defender that ha ste needed intelligence and discipline", warned Bremerhaven head coach Douglas Spradley.

Harris started his basketball career in 2004 where he played for UCSB (NCAA) until 2008. He played a total of 118 NCAA games. In 2008-2009, he started his professional basketball career with playing the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (Pre-NBA Draft): 3 games: 8.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.0apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 34.5%, 3PT: 11.1%, FT: 66.7%. He then played for PGE Turow Zgorzelec (Poland-DBE, starting five): Eurocup: 6 games: 6.8ppg, 1.0rpg, 1.0apg; Polish League: 34 games: 7.3ppg, 2.1rpg, FGP: 40.4%, 3PT: 38.9%, FT: 82.7%. In 2009-2010, he gathered further experience in Poland playing for : Energa Czarni Slupsk (Poland-PLK, starting five): 30 games: 9.7ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 38.2%, 3PT: 40.0%, FT: 81.5%.
